About Us

Liz van Welie is a former swimmer for New Zealand. She competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics and at the 2002 Commonwealth Games where she won a silver medal in the women's 400m individual medley.

In January 2011 the Liz van Welie Swim School was established by Liz and her husband, Greg Cummings. On January 10th the school opened for business out of their premises at 25 Cypress Street in Judea. The school held its last lesson on this site on 2nd April 2017.

Liz van Welie Swim School uses the MagnaPool system and provides a mineral water swimming environment. Being the first commercial providers of Magnapool and Diamond Filtration in New Zealand provides a point of difference for people who care about their health and that of their children.

On 3rd April 2017, the Swim School started operating in a new purpose-built facility at 79 Pyes Pa Road. The Swim School became part of a larger organisation Liz van Welie Aquatics. This umbrella organisation includes the swim school, the swim squads and adult fitness. Competition is provided through the Liz van Welie Aquatics Swim Club.
